Hi,

I've been mixing and recording for up to 14 hours straight and here it is:

Say Hey

If you have any comments/tips/advice on the mixing, producing or playing you are more then welcome to point them out.
Every nitpicking you can find is welcome ;)

Thx in advance !!

Ok....first thing I'll say is don't record and mix on the same day....your ears will get burned, the bottom end was non existant, the mids were heavy and the vocals were buried....that said....not a bad tune, give your ears a rest and do a re-mix and you have a winner!!!

Except for the slap of the bass drum there's no bottom end to speak of (& that's more a toppy slap than the thud I rather like).
Nice little pop metal tune.
There're no mids in the guitars either.
The bass seems defined only very occasionally. It needs some bottom end and, possibly, a 3khz boost to give it definition.
I don't mind the vocal positioning at all though, again, the vocals seemt o have had the bottom & mids filtered out.
I don't cut mid or bottom in anything UNTIL the need arises. Some folk do it as a matter of process & sequence.
I know muddy mids & bottoms seem to be the quicksand of mixing but that doesn't mean you should avoid the beach.
Good work so far. please post an update.

LOOL I listened to it today, ear adaption is a really funny effect.
Yesterday there seemed nothing wrong with it, now I'm a bit embarased about to non-existing bass :D

Anyways thanks alot for the comments, I updated the mix :

Say Hey Version 2

Feel free to comment ;)

Bit of a British feel to this song....at the same time the leads remind me of American rock.

Lead vocals coming out nicely and your background vocals are very cool.

Guitars are great - what are they and how are they recorded?

Bass is subtle - a bit more would be nice...

The playing on this is fabulous - super tight.

Great Job~

:) :D :) :D
