I just bought a Tascam DP-01FX small studio package. I thought I needed a mixer next but after reading some stuff, I now think I need an EQ. Then again, a compressor would be handy also! Can anyone reccomend the next logical step to take, that is, if there is anything logical about home recording.
The next logical step is to record two dozen or so of your best songs, or the cover songs that you play best or a combnation thereof.
Then you'll be in a much better position to assess what you need and in what order. In my opinion, the DP01FX is a good little machine, and you need to test it's limits before spending anymore dosh on stuff that may or may not prove useful.
That's actually some pretty good advice. Every time I sit down with that machine I discover something new, so maybe I should just lay off the gear for now. Thanks!
