What soundcard???

I am about to change my guillemot soundcard because I need 8 outs to go with my new mixer.

I have an extremely limited budget (student!), but need the following: 8 Outs
spdif (would be nice)
Optical (would be nice)
drivers for all O.S's
SMPTE

Also, if it does not have smpte can I get any sort of a midi smpte interface to employ this facility at a later date.

What do people think of the echo cards?
