What size monitors are you using?

I'm shopping for a HDTV now. Will probably buy a Panasonic or Toshiba 36" CRT model. They don't have computer monitor inputs, but you can turn on scan doubling for composite sources. Since I have a computer now hooked into my current TV (via S-Video out) it should look better, but no way of knowing yet how much better.

I'm using two 17" monitors, But I wish I had bought two 19"s running off an ATI 7000 dual port AGP card. The Matrox cards are also very popular. These are not hi performance gaming cards however.
I've found 1024x768 to be just about right for my stage of aging eyes.

Windows supports dual monitors, but be aware that not all applications do. For example, in my Logic program, though I can move some elements of the program over to the second monitor, I can't move the "mixer" or "arrange" window from the primary screen which was rather disappointing.

Twist

ok. this may seem extravagant, but I use a 23" ViewSonic Monitor and my resolution set to 1600x1200 (I think) with 70 refresh rate.

I have pretty good vision and it allows me total use of my screen space. I get a lot of complaints from people using my machine that everything is too small, though.

I am interested in the split screen though. It would be cool to try..

if you're talking to me, refresh rate is set as high as it goes. Trust me, my eyes wouldn't last ten minutes at anything lower.

Stone, course I am talking to you.... Only 70 Hz maximum!!!!!Dude I would go blind at that rate.......I use 85 and it is like a minimum to me.....

shitty video card, I guess. Some texas instruments thing I inherited a couple years ago. When I switch between res rates, it defaults to 60 and I go blind until I can switch it back up.

I suppose I'm just used to it. I can't justify spending anything on another one when I have mics to buy!

But I will say that I haven't had anyone complain about it at 70.

thanks for the advice though.

You guys have me REALLY concerned!!!

For years my wife has been telling me that size really doesn't matter.

Now you are telling me that she's been lying?

See it as an act of love. She probably doesn't want to hurt your feelings.
