A Reel Person It's Too Funky in Here!!! Mar 27, 2005 #9 I find 7" reels of 1/4" tape a "fun format", for some strange reason. It's cheaper 'cause it's less linear time, in total, & is on a much cheaper reel. The 42 & units like it will handle 7" reels just fine. You must first remove the NAB hub adapters, & you're there!
