Ok, so I was given these Monster Cables.

They say "Prolink Performer 500 . Ultra Wide Bandwidth High Power Speaker Cable with Magnetic Fluc Tube by Monster Cable . 1 ft." (They are actually quite a bit bigger than one foot, but whatever)

So anyway...they produce this buzz when using them to record (thats why they were given to me)

Before I sell them on Ebay, I just want to make sure that this buzz is because they are made for something else, rather than the fact that they're broken.

They seem like really nice and expensive cables, but they both have the same buzz...whats it from?

Thanks,

Patrick

It's speaker cable, and it's meant to run between your hi-fi stereo and your speakers. This is not line cable.

Monster is overpriced and overhyped. "Ultra Wide Bandwidth Speaker Cable?!?!" What a bunch of marketing horseshit! Sell that crap!

You should sell the cable and give away a free bottle of snake oil with purchase.

Oh, don't listen to the Monster bashers. The only problem with Monster cables is that they are overpriced and over hyped. You got them for free. They are *speaker cables*, which means they are not shielded, and are inappropriate for line level transfers. Hook the damn things to some speakers and they'll work fine.
You can get Mogami or Canare speaker cables, and they'll hum too. They are for speakers.-Richie

If they buzz, just take them to ANY store that sells monster cables & they will be replaced for FREE. You don't need a receipt, or any packaging, just the cables.

The store has to replace them without question!

good luck
