I had no idea that cell phone jobs paid that much money! I got 3 or 4 cell phone places right by my house. I got office depot up the road. I applied for radio shack. Bestbuy/Circuit city are farther away. Are the cell phone jobs stressful?

Only if you don't sell the phones... :D

Some of you wish you could sit on your ass all day and not do a damn thing

While I don't make as much as you doing it, I do sit on my ass all day ;) Though I make MAYBE 10k a year... going on tour this summer though... as long as I have enough money to travel I'm cool. Not married (yet...) and putting off college as long as possible (going in for a medical degree... yikes!!)

factory whore here. hard, sometimes dirty, face paced work but hey, at least the pay's low. :D

I think I could handle a computer tech job. I don't know though. After a few thousand dumb ass questions I might snap! Does it pay worth a damn?

If you're talking about customer service phone computer support...it depends.

I used to make $11.50 an hour working for Dell doing that. Not a bad job, but too many stats you have to stay on top of....but working 4 10 hour shifts was niiiiice. I got Friday - Sunday off then and still made 40 hours.

If you work on phones doing customer support or tech support prepare to be extremely micromanaged.

Im a factory whore too. In cold storage. Fun

ahhh.........cold storage. i bet your nuts stay as hard as a couple of pecans. :D nice to see another factory whore around here.

some of my factory whoring grounds have been Trane, Whirlpool, Aire Systems, Pall Corp., Acme Engineering (yes it does exist outside of cartoons). some of my jobs have been metal fabrication, metal machining, fork lift driver, assembly (you'd be amazed at some shit management pushes out the door), print press operator, painter, blah blah blah. it's all the same. i'm burned out. i need a sugar momma.

typical factory whore wages are from $9-14 hr entry level in the locations i've been to including arkansas, oklahoma, indiana, florida, and georgia.

well i do hate having some dick head looking over my shoulder every minute of the day. in my factory whoring experience, 4 10 hour days is just a trick of management to stuff more hours down your throat. it usually ends up being more like 5-6 days.

Computer Operations is what I do... I take my personal laptop to work ;)

Of course.. I don't hook it up to the network.. I do have have protools free on it, tho...

I get by selling tracks, DJ ing, and engineering sessions. Since my recording set up isn't all that great, I only charge $25 an hour. But if I need big money. I'll take a software implementaion consulting contract. They usually pay $1600 a week, but I'm on the road Monday through Friday. The work is mad easy, and it takes me out of the country sometime too. But before I hustled my way into my first consultant job. I was stuck in a cubicle making $12 an hour.

Unbelievable

Yall are not going to believe this! I've been looking for jobs for months now to replace my job at chic-fil-a. I haven't been able to find anything. Yesterday and today, they put me in charge of closing down the kitchen. Today, one of the managers talked to me about a MANAGEMENT position!! I'm gong to have to prove myself to get this position and i am!!!! Forget the other jobs, i'm not going to give up management experience. That will help me down the road. I plan to stay there until i finish college(bout 2 years) then i'll go into my profession. The management will help my resume out. God has truly blessed me. Sometimes i wonder why he blesses me when i commit the same sins over and over again. He's a good God!

Going into management at Chick-fil-A could get you into further management opps in the restaurant business. I know...Chick-fil-A was my first job. By the way, do they still let you have a free meal a day when you are working that day? They did that when I used to work there (damn near 12 years ago....shit I'm old) and boy did I come home with the largest cup they had filled with a root beer float (of course management never knew I did that one) and a huge meal that I cooked myself.

Everybody has to get their start somewhere so if the job is being good to you no reason to leave it yet.

Yep. You get a meal if you work for 4 hours. I used to not like their food but now i'm hooked on it! I like the chic-fila samich wit fries and coleslaw.

Newsflash!!! I applied for bridgestone/firestone about 2 months ago. They called me this morning!! I go in for testing on monday. I really hope and pray i get that job. I'll pack up the apartment and move out "da hood" for good!! I can't take these tenants around here anymore. Constant noise 24/7. I don't think they sleep! I've heard from many people that they pay really good. Do yall know anybody's pay at bridgestone/firestone? I'm talkin about the plant not the actual auto shop.
