I seriously just started recording, and I need some pointers. I've won many awards with my voice, I just don't know squat about recording.

So what is an EQ and how and when do I apply it? Also, is Garageband a good program to use? If not, what is?

Please and thanks.

EQ = Equalizer

Without getting into a bunch of technical blah, blah blah.

EQ allows you to boost or cut an audio signal at a certain frequency and it is used when you need to do so.

There are differant types of eq's but they all work on the principle stated above.

I already answered the question about Garageband try it and see if you like it.

Ohhhh, okay. Thanks, I appreciate it.

Add or remove amounts of Low, Mid or Hi frequency sound in varying amounts of details & finesse depending on the EQ tool used.
Garageband? Good fun, good start. Go further & you'll move on QUICKLY.
