Carter, I didn't know you used an AP 2496. Do you have two rooms, live and control, if not how do you monitor through headphones?

The YSM-1s are very useable. I'm on my second pair.
I'm on my first pair, and just curious, how did you wear out a pair, and how long did you have them?

I blew up the first pair. I had the monitors up very loud, made a bad patch and set up a feedback loop at about 140 dB. My fault. They were about two years old at that time.

I do have two rooms, I go from the 24/96 outs to channel 1 & 2 on the Fostex 450 8x4x2. the Fostex has control room outs for my two sets of monitors (I switch monitors via pachbay) and two headphone outs. The good thing is they have seperate volume controls (Control room and headphone out), one of the headphone outs is to me the other to the patchbay that connects to the headphone amp in the live room. :D

Surprised to see in the poll that most use headphones...I do understand though. I finally have a deticated mixing area with some JBL's (studio type) speakers-very nice quality, and some big home speakers with 12" woofers-plus head phones....Gives a nice combo of sounds.

WOW Man! me too same thing, JBL 4408 mons., EV X2 15"ersW/ horns (152 EV I think or something), and my AKG 240s's.

My 4408 JBLs are getting pretty old, looking for another pair of mons. Maybe powered this time.

Hey! Good luck man! :D
