I work for Texas Instruments in the Digital Signal Processor department and I specialize on the TMS320C6711 and the TMS320C64X Digital Signal Processors. I have the ability to program a DSK (DSP starter Kit) with stereo inputs and stereo outputs to do pretty much anything I want it to with regards to Aduio. However I do not know what to tell it to do in order to achieve the effects that are popular amongst gitaritsts etc... For example, an octave pedal is easy. Simply take a frequency for example 440Hz (A) and tell the DSP to double the frequency to 880Hz and poof you have an ovtave pedal. But like chorus, flanger, phaser, distortion, etc... I have no clue. What does a DSP have to do to condition a signal to make it pop out distorted? Does anyone know of any cool place or book that deals with SINE wav manipulation in order to acieve effects on both an analog or digital level. because if I know what to do to it analog wise, then the switch to digital is easy, and cheaper.

Thanks guys fo seeing whatever you can turn up,

Mike
