What about all those noisy cables?

My input is one track at a time - True systems P-solo > lucid ad9624 > s/pdif thru motu 828mkII into cubase.

I can't wait to get a mixer. I see a way to use my first AI i ever owned connected to my mkII to get 12 channels out of my mkII without buying new gear. I'll be running 12 trs cables out of the mkII to my mixer for some otb mixing and fx processing.

Can I get some spoon fed love on cable suggestions? 2ft long Monster? Buy a soldering iron?
 
Sweet! i was kinda hoping i might hear that. So homemade cables can potentially be as good as any? I love homemade!
 
goto redco.com you can order cusstom lengths and which connects on who's cable... and not much more than making yourself...
 
Why do you want to do this rather than get an interface, record all the tracks separately, then do the wizardry with your DAW?

Mic up drums maybe? that's why I was looking at a Line6 UX-8 even tho I have a UX-1 multiple inputs! :)

I got a pack of 10-20 foot GLS xlr to xlr cables off Amazon for 80 bones, they seem solid, great reviews. You can get 10-20 Musician's Gear cables for 50 bucks, but they get like 1.5 stars out of 5. The GLS is more like 4.5 out of 5.
 
I've been recording with my P-Solo preamp and AD9624 AD converter for a while now, and when I get it in the DAW, the mixes (for me) seem to be missing what i could get from bringing everything out of the interface to a mixer and mixing and adding effects in the audio domain instead of the digital domain. It will sound different (maybe less clean considering the analogue equipment I'll be using), but for my personal tastes i think it will be a good difference. But I'm a guy who wishes everything was still on cassette tape. It's just one man's opinion.

I HATE mixing one track at a time.

Much rather be able to reach out and grab a bunch of knobs and change a bunch of stuff at once.
 
And yes, Lt. Actually touching a fader rather than dragging a mouse is another major reason i want to run all these cables.
