Could somebody please offer some insight into the Yorkville YSM1p vs. the Wharfdale 8.2a. Perhaps my request is in vain as this topic has been skirted a couple times already in this thread and forgive me if the information is revealed elsewhere on this site. I know the YSM1p's come with a lifetime warranty, which is appealing. Is there any more bass response? That seems to be the #1 issue with the 8.2a..... What can I say, it ain't easy bein' green.
i dont have wharfdale but ... anyway i posted the fellowing on the other fourm
i own
M1mk2 actives, Mackie HR824 and now barrowing
behringer B2030a ... had Yorkville YSM-1P's for about a week but it's returned because i can't stand its high frequency characteristc, they are bright... way too bright sounding, my ears can't stand it when listen to highfreq-only music, even when trim the high to max... it still sound really bright, i can't image how can people mix without trim the high.
the Behringer Truth is also bright but not unbearable
M1mk2 active sound really smooth, but not transparent and 3D enough when compare to Truth and 824, however, Yorkville YSM-1P's have better seperation of sounds than m1
on Yorkville YSM-1P's , the vocal and bass tend to sound narrower...
just so that u know i also just returned the eventstudio asp8, haha, but to those who loves JBL and yamaha NS... 10 and other EVENTstudios will love it ... yet - not me!!
anyway
Yorkville, Behringer, Alesis.... @ this price point
i choose Behringer for its better imaging and transparency...
oh and i thought lots people are BS about how good Truth are... but wow!
i might need to barrow the big one and try it home next week!
PS. theres no right or wrong only like and dislike!
if you have the charm, power, and money, you can make right into wrong!! yeah! believe it or not~
