Hey guys, this is my first post. It's a Bear Creek Weissenborn ---> 2 MA-100s ---> RTZ 9762 Stereo Pre ---> U.A. Apollo ---> ProTools ---> UAD Fairchild on the Weissenborn ---> UA Precision Maximizer on the Master Fader.

Any Constructive Criticism would be appreciated. Thanks so much guys!

Sounds good to me. Simple honest tones captured nicely. I had to google a weissenborn. Seen them before, didn't know that's what they were called.

The link worked for me. :p

Is it working now? I see it on my computer, but not sure exactly how to properly post on here yet.

Yeah, it's good now. It's a good mix, too. If you want to make it better, you'd have to retrack it, slightly slower. As it is now, it's fine, but it plods a bit, like an old horse who's trying to get somewhere. If you slowed it down a few bpm, it would give the guitarist time to explore some expression on the notes at the end of each phrase. But don't fret - the baby Jesus likes old horses, even mid-November. The baby Jesus is cool with everything.

Thanks Dobro! Yeah, that's me playing too. It's for an upcoming lesson, so I'm having to keep it really simple as it's a beginning lesson, but I know what you mean. Thanks for checking it out and advice.

Hey Dobro, I'm Troy Brenningmeyer from LessonsWithTroy.com . I teach Dobro, Lap Steel, Weissenborn, and Pedal Steel. This is going to be the intro to a basic Weissenborn Lesson where I will teach someone how to play this particular song. I joined this forum to have an outlet to get feedback and constructive criticism on my audio recordings. Nice name btw! Take care man. ~Troy~

I'm not sure about what exactly you mean by plodding along, but yeah I'm keeping it very simple and basic. Plus it's being played along with a Band In A Box track.

I guess my question is do you mean that the TEMPO is too slow or are you thinking I'm behind the beat while playing? "Plodding Along" could mean either.

No, you're playing in time. It was the tempo I was talking about, which gives it a slight heaviness. If you slowed it down, it would have a lighter touch. It's good as it is, but if you and I were in the same room I'd be going 'Let's slow it down 10 bpm and see what happens'.

It's been a lesson to me - don't click on anything with weissenborn in the title. :D
