Weird problem with MR-8

Okay, this afternoon I was doing some recording on my MR-8, and before I started, I erased all the songs from the memory card. I played one song that was only one track and clocked in at only two minutes. Then, I created a new song, and about 40 seconds into that one (still only one track), it told me I ran out of memory.

I'm still using the 128 MB card the unit came with, so I know I don't have a ton of space, but I should certainly be getting more than 2:40 seconds worth of track time, right?

I was in "normal" mode, by the way, but that's what I always use....and I've never run out of memory so fast. Could there be something wrong with the card, or is there something I'm missing?

One thing I always notice is that when I connect it to my computer, in the "2 mix" folder, I always get a bunch of .wav's of previous takes of certain tracks. Is there a memory card equivelant of clearing your cache or something?

All help's greatly appreciated.....this is insanely frustrating.

Mike, it sounds to me like you're not erasing the unwanted takes. The redo key is misnamed. It should be called 'new take'. To erase the unwanted wave files you have to go to the song menu and scroll down to delete unused. This will remove all those takes that you didin't like and give you back all your lost time. I hope this helps. If not, feel free to ask again. :)
