I have one track from my last session that is having some problems. I get dropouts, and occasionally a "hard disk may be full cannot save full file" error messages when recording distorted guitar. It's is just this one file and I have tons of room left on the hard drive. Could my cakewalk file be corrupt somehow? I defragged the hard drive and removed old files from the folder to no avail. Would it possibly help to create a new file and just import the wave files from the old project? There are only 5 tracks and I've never had any trouble like this before.

You could save the project under a different name to create a duplicate and try to deconstruct it to find the problem, eliminating the risk of completely corrupting the file.

All your other projects are fine?
Nothing different about this project off the top of your head?

I've never gotten this error message before,so I'm just playing a little process of elimination.

I actually tried that, I wonder if the hard drive in my computer is failing. I think I'll try it with my external drive and see what happens.

export the problem track to another program like "sound forge" and see how it is there. If its cool there import it back to different track in project.

I had the same problem. Tech support told me that my audio hardware drivers may be corrupt. I deleted my drivers (motu fw) and reintalled them then deleted AUD.INI and TTSSEQ.INI in my SONAR folder. opened Sonar and it reconfigured my hardware and all seems good so far.

I used to have the problem w/ S4, and only on certain songs. It was frustratingly intermittent, and I never got a good answer as to why it would happen.

With S5, I've been able to take the same song that caused trouble in S4, and it works fine.

Go figure ...
