I see deaf people
nothing special, just did it as i cant finish another song off...but i kinda like it, reminds me of Ultramarine...the drums are a bit weird and off..but I did mean it lol

any nits on the mix? there's quite a lot of bass in there, still not 100% in tune with my new monitors

its called "stellar", its pretty spartan and under 5mins ( Greg ;) )

thanks for your comments on the mix and Im glad you enjoyed it dickhead :)

I'm not really feeling the intro this one homie. It sounds like it could be the backing track of some rap song. It picks up a little as it goes on, but it's too chillax for me. It's done well though. It goes by faster than it's 4 minute length indicates, so that's good, in a good way. You got some nice super lows happening that's making my floor toms rumble, which is a good thing. That usually only happens with a clean mix. I call it the "tom test". Lol. I play this stuff loud, and if my toms rumble but the snare doesn't buzz, it's usually good. When the snare starts buzzing without being prompted by mids in the mix, then that's bad. You passed the tom test. :p

Nice work overall. :)

Thanks G...its a bit too sparse, I know what you mean about a rap track...I just kinda like the organ.....and the BBC samples

maybe it'll be the B side of my first top fifty hit in Nepals independent dance charts lol

thanks for listening :)

The organ is nice. It's the kicks and hi-hat/snare thing that give it a hip-hop feel, to me. It's just the intro though. It loses it's fried chicken flavor once other things start happening.

Hi..thanks for the kind words you left me earlier today (I sincerely appreciate your generous complement since our musical tastes are indeed very different!;))

So I listened to "Stellar" and I enjoyed it. Not sure I can be of any use as far as offering commentary, lol...I don't think I'd recognize a "nit" in the mix (even if they were running rampant with neon flags waving).

I liked the whole feeling this song evokes...nice & calming, but energizing at the same time. This kind of music is what I need when I'm having trouble staying focused on getting my work done.

lol, cheers sharon...looks like your going to be a valuable addition to the clinic...just watch everyone doesnt try to get you to collab...we have a lack of female talent in here ;)

thanks for listening and the comments, if nothing stood out then Im happy...you dont need to be a fan of genre to have decent ears..

I really enjoyed listening to your stuff earlier...its was refreshing :)

I can't find any nits with this one. Listened to it on my Rokit 8's. Apply the usual commentary liberally (great mix / use of space / texture / etc...)

Fabulous mixing. Be sure to let me know when your album comes out.

That one took me for a nice, easy, slow trip around the moon...
Then I landed on Mars.

Definitely different from your other latest tunes.

I think a variety is good. Excellent ambient sounding track.
Everything sits nice in the mix.
Good stuff KC!!!:D

You know I enjoy this style,...Industrial / Ambient;)
so I gave it a few go-rounds...once in the headphones,
and twice through the monitors.

I thought about,..puttin' some of my "speaker-eaters" up,..
But none of 'em are mastered,..just raw mixes,..so,..don't want to
destroy anyone's laptop/computer speakers,..or monitors.
The bass drum sounds in my mixes have a ton of low end,
along with the toms soundin' pretty big as well...being the fact that it is
hardcore industrial.

Not only that,..I don't want to destroy anyone's ears too!
I think my noize, will definitely chase everyone away.
I'm workin' on somethin' a little easier on the ears (for people not really into
that genre)...that I might get around to postin'.
Somethin' a little smoother, but still industrial soundin'
I record all types of different sounds right into my samplers,
when I hit N.Y.C. every month. Alot of machine type sounds,..and random people on the streets. Every now and again, I'll sample some crazy shit someone might have left on the messages, on my phone.
(I never answer my phone, so there are alot!..I hate phones)

I like how the samples sit in this mix.
You did well. Not overkill,..used very tastefully.
Keep 'em comin'!

I'm off to practice,..catch up w/ you later!

I like it, but where is the BOOM, BOOM, BOOM, BOOM. :D

Nah, this one is perfect how it is. The only thing I think that would make this better is to have some lyrics on it. I can see where Greg is coming from about it being a rap song, but I believe it can have a different feel to it if it had just a little bit of good harmony vocals. I don't know how to explain it but I know it is out there. Anyhow, I like it and that is all that matters I guess. You got a great talent for this.

Man I hope so dude. My biggest problem is tracking right now, but I hope to have something posted again. I have no "studio" it's just my bedroom and my equipment. Thanks for the interest though.

P.S. I will get you that bass track for Night Bus. It'll probably suck and you won't use it but I am gonna do it. ;)

Later.

i just listened to it again for the first time since posting it and bloody hell you are right...up until the break it should have a rap on it...dunno how i didnt hear it, cant think how it ended up like that as i dont listen to any hip hop nowadays....i might go back and redo the drum track with something more techno(ish)

well spotted, you're pretty good at this arent ya ;)

I have to disagree with the rap opinions- sounds no such at all to my mind..

Perhaps many modern listeners nowadays unfortunately equate electronic grooves with "rap".

If I were to compare this to anything, it reminds me of the postal service- specifically 'This Place is A Prison". Menacing while still being a a danceable groove.

I dig this, and really like it when the vocal sample pops in about midway through. So far I like this the best out of what i've heard in my limited clinic exp.

For: Munch :laughings::laughings::laughings

Easy to throw out when you've got nothing;

Prove everyone wrong asshole, show us what a class act records.

I imagine you've got nothing.

thanks okie...suprised you like this so much...if anything i think it sounds like a modern hip hop track meeting national geographic...still like it though

glad you do too..

forget about munch, the more he does this the bigger the arse he looks.....who else is gonna him any attention ;)

You can say that again!....and I've got papers to prove it!!!:laughings::eek:

whats the band play? you on keyboards I take it?

Well I play in 3 of 'em,..I play Drums,... samples and synths (triggered from pedals)..in 2 of 'em,..and just drums in one of 'em. (Metal, and Old Style Punk)..with tinctures of electronics, in the Metal bands.

I couldn't play a keyboard (chords) to save my life!,...even though I own a few.
I'm more tailored to beat on shit, than playin' chords on keys.
I know just enough on the keys to get my point across.
But,...I do go out and play some improv. gigs by myself with a pretty crazy setup. I bring my electronic drum kit, along with several synths and samplers, and I switch between 'em. I've had some pretty good reactions so far.
Gettin' ready to do a "one man band" show on Halloween..openin' for a couple local industrial metal bands.
But yes,..I will send you some stuff you can master for me,..if you'd like.
I'll let you know soon as I'm ready to upload it into the computer.
Problem being,..whenever I actually get any time away from the other bands,
I usually work on my electronic stuff,..but never get the time to actually put the finishing touches on any of it.
I did come across a tape that I am quite happy with,..and will be definitely spending some time on it one way or another this weekend. So, I'll be knockin' on your door soon!
