Wave Edit in Sonar

Is sonar capable of editing wav files? I'm using Sonar 4 and I can't figure out how to edit for the life of me. I'm using Adobe Audition to edit right now, and it's VERY easy. I'm wondering why a full blown production software like Sonar doesn't make wav editing easier to figure out. Could someone point me to the right direction? Thanks!

Sonar does have wave editing capabilities; however, they are somewhat limited as it is not a wave editing program.

What is it you are trying to do? You can probably accomplish it in Sonar. The wave editing in Sonar is done in the Track View directly on the wave form(s) to the right.

On the other hand, Sonar is designed to do most things non-destructively. So you *might* be better off approaching it this way, rather than actually altering the underlying wave. For example, rather than deleting sections, you can slip edit them instead. This way the original material is still there, it is just not displayed or played.

when your slipp editing how do you click on a section of the wav and see the time it appears at.

Another option would be to add Audition to the tools menu.... you could use this program:

It is a safe website, many people have used it for a long time. After you add audition, you can open the wav there and destructively edit it (use the proprietary effects etc.) then resave it.
