I know this is propably EQ based problem.. So many people say that boosting and cutting the right signals can make miracles to any kind of mix.. now i just need to know what to boost and what to cut.. i am basically recording rap vocals.

Sounds like you want a chart of "magic frequencys".

....sorry, doesn't exist. You EQ whatever NEEDS to be EQ'ed for the partular recording and that all depends on the artist, the equipment and the room.
It's all experience and using your ears....

Go buy the book "Home Recording for Dummies." Lots of good info, plus it does have a chart that tells you the frequencies for certain instruments, like boosting 1-5 kHz of bass guitar will get you more attack, etc.

It's kind of like asking "how long is a piece of string?"

You will need to cut or boost different frequencies than anyone else. It is completely dependant on the sound that got recorded. Even if you record the same person the same way, you might need to EQ two different song differently because of the instrumentation.

Voice fundamentals are anywhere from 200-400hz - boosting here can give warmth and some rounded qualities, but can also cut clarity. Cutting here can boost clarity, but can also sound thin.
Vocal presence is from circa 4-6khz - boosting here can add presence and clarity, but can also cut warmth and become brittle/harsh
play with wide Q settings and narrow Q settings and see which works best for your track ...

start with very slight dips and boosts until something works .. and do alot of AB'ing

find the balance - use the force ... or whatever :P

My lesson of the day: Nothing is impossible if you have a dream

The keys to "warm-sounding vocals" are:

1. Singing softly
2. Singing close to the microphone

Finding the mic/pre combination, that works best with your voice, is a key factor.
