hey a1a

definitley some floyd influences.

The only thing a little out of place is that drummer :)

He took me on a trip in itself :)

Enjoyed the singing and and guitar goodies in there :)

Nice work !

Just out of curosity, guys, am I a Floyd rip-off?? I have long fought to stay away from that image, but always end up sounding like them:( . Not that I mind having their influences in my stuff, but is the influence so apperant that it becomes a work of a Floyd copycat?? Honesty is welcomed:)

Thanks for those who listened and your suggestions will be in my notes when I do the remix.

There is nothing wrong with that at all. Thats how your own style is molded.

Sluice sounds like pink floyd also.

Jimi Hendrix lytrics have a sense of dylan

Influeneces usually come out of who you are... so you really dont have a choice :)

Its just.. the more that you play the more your influeneces get covered up by by a combination of your influences and yourself.

I hope that makes sense :)

Nice piece of work, the drums definitely need to be tighter, some of the vocals need a little clarity....I know the singer can sing but what is she saying?? I think the high parts should be considered to be lowered in range, maybe just to try it? The end is way cool

JMarcomb,
Thanks, man. That's very encouraging!

lynx,
Don't worry, you're not missing out much. I wrote the lyrics and I still don't know what the message is :D

I love those opening chords and the shimmer guitar. It really does have that waterfall effect.

I like the singer's vocal, but on my crappy computer speaker the balance didn't sound right between the vocal and the music. The vocal almost sounded too out front, but it may just be on my end.

I didn't think "Floyd" so much as I did Beatles when it began.

Love the mood you have created and the flow. Very nice!

:D

Hi,

Good song, good sounds, surprising but not unpleasant vocal.

To my humble ears, the "triplet thing" that the drummer plays (and everyone else tries to keep in time with) doesn't work. It seems to make the song stutter, like an engine misfiring, and then it kind of gets back on track. I'd play it straight - there's enough in the melody, vox and instrumentation to make the song work well.

Cheers,
Mscmln.

wow, i didn't know people actually listen to the tunes beyond the first page here. Thanks for listening!

boydrj,
I thought the vocal was almost burried behind the intruments:confused: I'm suprised you find it upfront:confused: Maybe I need to tweak it so the high frequencies don't jump out...

Musichameleon,

thanks for the kind words. Glad you spotted the triplets:) The vocalist played those on the piano and the drummer was like, "wow, you can do that?" So he experimented with it. He is only a beginner, so...anyway, thanks for the kind words and suggestions.
