VS2480 newbie Question

I have never owned anything sophisticated like the ROland 2480.
I am looking to replace my MAUDIO- OMSNISTUDIO with something like the 2480.
What advantages would I have? Are the pre-amps going to be better? better computer interface software? Mixing?

I will appreciate any advise and suggestions on this. I also like the Yamaha products.

I have owned my 2480 for about 2 years now and I love it. It has all the power that you'll need to produce any type of project. I have beeen able to build a complete studio in our town and with the 2480 I have become the biggest and best in the area. The mic pres are great the mxinf and automation is the best. I do suggest buying the video manual and make back up regularly. And it wouldn't hurt to have and second hard drive.

I got all the effects boards, meter bridge and CD Rack with mine. I will say the CD rack is a little noisey. I put it into a closet with a long cable.
