Autotune will help keep the pitch, but it won't do anything for a thin voice. If that is your problem try doubling your vocal tracks.

I like alternative vox generally. So I'll double track vocals with a pan of 15% (or less/more depending on taste). You may also try a slapback delay with the right predelay to get you a thickening of the voice. Sometimes I throw the slightest phaser on a vocal. I generally don't like much reverb on vox at all. Rarely I'll overcompress my vocal tracks to get a really out there squashed alternative sound. I've started putting my vocals through the Voxengo Tapebus plugin and have been loving it. Just some things to try, but there's no right or wrong.

I also saw in another thread that you can have two extra vocal tracks with one +5 cents pitch and one -5 cents pitch.

Hope this helps.

Yes, there are some things you can do. For example... autotune/lessions could help if it's an out of tune type strenghtening... or if it's power you want, you could copy and double your voice, or maybe your looking for a little grit... in which case you could add a 'little' distrotion... or maybe you're looking for a nice room... anyway, that's just a few examples. What knid of vocal strenghtening are you looking for?

DJL: lessions? Is that supposed to be lessons or lesions? Either way, it's pretty funny. And Chessrock, I note that yours goes to eleven. Nice.

Best thing you can do, IMHO, if you haven't already, is to take a couple of voice lessons. Work on support, projecting, focusing the sound in the mask and all that. If you do, it will make a lot more difference than any amount of processing. Just a couple of lessons can make a huge difference if you keep practicing the techniques you learn and keep them in mind every time you sing.

Dave's (only half-kidding) three-step guide to breath support:
Step 1: Lie down and place a book on your stomach. As you breathe in, focus on pushing the book away from you. Repeat until you do this consistently.

Step 2: Use a slightly heavier book. This time, practice breathing out while continuing to keep that book pushed away from you.

Step 3: Sing and breathe in the same fashion while you do.

That said, careful EQ tweaks can help in some cases if you have already recorded something. Raise the high mids if you are singing too much in the back of your throat, raise the lower mids if your voice is sounding too thin.

And ditto on what everyone has said about doubling, Auto-Tune, etc.
