Voice advice

Well I haven't asked her directly. Anyway this is not a song I have worked on. I'd like to hear your opinion :)

A few pitchy spots but overall it was good. The low part sounds like it's harder than the high part to stay in tune. Are you monitoring the music with headphones or just off your laptop speakers? Recording with your phone?
I'd ask the teacher to give you their opinion as that is what they are paid to do, and if you don't get their feedback then you'll never know what an expert thinks. The teacher is there to guide you - even if you are singing songs that are not part of their lesson plan. Nobody wants to sing scales all day....Keep up the good work.

You need to start working on your recording skills if you plan to record your vocals.

You do have some talent for sure!

Your voice is nice and you can definitely hit the notes but it sounds like you don't really know how to hit them and you can tell it wasn't practiced (can hear you searching for notes as you sing). Once you get the notes you don't have the breath to support them so they get really pitchy and it sounds like you're trying to fake some vibrato or something which doesn't work. Keep working with your coach and you should be fine, it's not a matter of not enough talent, you have that, it's a matter of practice and skill now.

I'm sure there are people out there who could belt like beyonce right from the womb, but for most of us we have to work our asses off to do anything decent. You have the talent, now put in the work.

Good luck

I would give advice, but you have a teacher. Your voice is fine, your techniques for breathing and muscle control need work. Trust the teacher, or get a different one...

Thank you very much for your answers! :) I hope that with work my singing will improve.

I used my laptop to record. I'm not monitoring the music with headphones, but I guess it would be a good idea to do so.

The only issue may be you can hear the music well but not your vocals so much with headphones on (unless you're using an interface).
That's a better topic for the recording forum.

Sorry I was quick earlier.
Marli, I am assuming that English is not your first language. Push your instructor to give you phonetic drills for your vowels.
I'm guessing Eastern Europe, possibly Russia/Ukraine? Hard to tell from singing...could be French for all I know. :)
You have really good control on hitting the notes. No problems there. Your confidence is good most of the time. As was noted, get the right muscles in play and get your breathing steady and controlled. You have a really sweet voice.
Hope you do well.
