It's interesting to hear where your tagline originates.
Between the two songs, it is hard to say. I think the production on "A Child In Your Eyes" is a bit tighter. That aside, the vocals in the two songs are mixed quite differently from one another. On "Planet", the vocals are buried a bit in the soundscape like certain Bob Mould tunes.
For 'Child', the vocals are way more intimate and close up. I like how it sounds.
You ears are correct in theorizing that the Hamburg "takes out certain high frequencies". That's exactly what is happening.
I'm with ljmaxxx in that I would like to hear a more direct comparison between the two mics. I don't perceive a "high end hype" the same as he does - I think it sounds pretty smooth overall, but a lot of that is from the singer.
As it happens, I think the songs are really cool. I like the melodies. "Planet" is the one that is stuck in my head right now - perhaps it would be the other song for the ADK people. Actually, "A Child In Your Eyes" sounds like the style of music that my band plays.
It seems like the grassroots music I've hear lately from newsgroups is getting more compelling. There's another guy somewhere around here named Matt Wilschke that is throwing out some cool music.
Is that Godin fretless your bassist's main axe? What a cool guitar. I'm in the market for one of their Multiac nylon 6-strings.
