Vocal Mics?

I've finally decided to get a pair of Marshall MXL 603S mics for overheads but now I want to add a vocal and acoustic guitar mic. Is the MXL 1006 a good mic for this? Or would I be best served by getting the Rode NT1? Any of you used other vocal/acoustic mics that you can recommend?

Thanks, everyone. This discussion board has a been an enormous help in my quest to add mics to my quaint and humble home recording setup. :)
 
There is a lot of discussion on this very subject (in many threads). Do some searching and you'll see quite a few suggestions.

If you want my personal opinion, I'd choose the MXL v67 (as would/have many others). It has been judged 'Best in Class' so to speak. A mere $99 at Mars Music. Best mic purchase I've ever made. I'll be getting a couple 603s next week as well (which BTW, work great on Acoustic guitar).

The 603s will work really well for acc. guitar, so you've already got that base covered.

I have to agree that at $100, the v67 is kind of a no-brainer as a vocal mic.

These are somewhat different propositions. If you can get a good one, an Oktava MK/MC-012 is great for acoustic. At $100 a pop for one with the cardioid capsule, it's a good deal. You can pay twice as much to get a somewhat better one from Sound Room, or you can sort through a few a GC and/or hotrod it yourself for about $10 in parts and supplies.
