Do they really work to increase vocal stamina and clarity? If so, what are some good options? I've read good things about VocalZone but can't find a distributor in North America.

Thanks,

Home recipes can do wonders. You don't need to buy something that's "specifically made" for the voice. I find sucking on a lemon really helps me when I sing falsetto.

I'm looking for something to extend my vocal stamina so I can track for longer.

I mean, the lozenge may help keep your throat lubricated, but I can't think of anything else it would do. Extending your stamina really requires exercises.

Exercises and warm ups before you start to track will help.

I've tried some of the vocal sprays. I didn't notice any help from them.

Mostly don't sing louder than you can for one thing.
If you stay within the range and levels that your voice can handle you'll do a lot better.
I can sing 4 hours shows nightly for weeks and only get a little scratchy ...... I sing fairly loud but I don't try to sing higher than I really can.

That's the secret for sure - sing in your range and don't scream. I burn out vocally when I sing too high for long periods of time - like when I'm tracking harmonies over and over. I sing for 2 hours non-stop now with no affect on my voice. I could go longer but I'm not gigging, just singing to stay in shape.

yeah ..... that's the one that'll do it right there.
Singing right at the upper end of your range fatigues the hell out of your vocal cords.

Hey Bob...have you tried Clear Voice? Did it work well for you?

LOL! Dude... all of them are pretty much the same. The only thing they do pretty much is lubricate the throat. They certainly don't help with stamina, which is what you want.

Hey Bob...Have you tried Singers Saving Grace? How did that work for ya?

I tend to do things that you should avoid....but I mainly like a cup of black coffee on the sweet side near by when I'm doing vocals, just occasionally lubricate the throat during the session.

There this herbal tea you can buy in vitamin shops called Throat Coat made by Traditional Medicinals...it's pretty aromatic and has a somewhat strong flavor, though not too bad. With some honey to sweeten it up, it's pretty drinkable.
It is it really does coat your throat and it has a somewhat "slimy" texture, but not in a gross way. So if your throat is getting soar and dry...Throat Coat will give you instant relief and allow you to push on.

I just stop singing if my throat is getting soar and come back to it another time, but then I try to keep my vocal session to 3-5 takes...done. So I rarely get soar from singing.

Jakemans throat and chest are amazing, I swear by them when I sing with my band, seriously! Your throat is like a frying pan...you gotto keep it moist and well lubed (haha) otherwise it burns up and starts turning everything to shit! :D

So against Bob's good advice I tried some vocal eze...not good at all, it works for about 5 minutes then the hoarseness comes back. I will try some of the other remedies suggested.

Thanks,

:D

It really doesn't work.

Most likely some of the guys home remedies will do much better.
But one thing ..... everyone's different.
For me, for example, nothing is better than good ol' scotch on the rocks.
I'm gonna suggest that's probably not the best for you.
So try some stuff and figure out what works for you.
