Hi guys!
I've just moved to NYC and I'm looking for some vocal lessons, but have no idea how to "do it".
Let me explain better: First of all, I can be considered a beginner, (had taken classes for some months but stopped but I have a good theoretical basis, since i've been playing an instrument for a cple years), just to make things easier.
Don't know if it's better, for example, to go to a school or just to find a single coach.
Plus, I have in mind to take smth around 1~2h/wk, and don't pretend to spend TOO much money.

Please, does anybody know any good teacher (who also teaches beginners) here in NY?

I'm most interested in smth related to rock if possible.

Thanks SO much =]

I've used his custom DVD service and he's really great no matter what level you're at.
...I've been meaning to get in touch with him for the follow up - in's been 3 years since I got the DVD  lol guess life just happened in the last 3 years and I lost track of time.

If you do send him a message, tell him that Sunny from Mississippi sent you and says hello :D

Check out Richard Miller's books: Solutions for Singers: Tools for Performers and Teachers: Richard Miller: 0000195160053: Amazon.com: Books

Most universities go by books and his methods/tips are based on actual science and not on opinions. He is probably the world's most influential voice pedagogues.

Thanks man, gonna take a look at these books.

When you check out his books, you will see majority of the stuff you hear in youtube videos are just wrong or doesn't make a difference. Style and genre will change, but human physiology won't.
