Rvox is ok and dirt simple. Fixed attack and release, single slider, auto makeup gain. On my voice - not so good if doing more than 4-5 db of reduction.

Somebody mentioned on another thread the Thrill Seeker LA or something along those lines.
I tested it. It's great! Less colored than the Lost Angel, and if you want more saturation, you have that option. Plus, it's free!

Plug-in?
I was going without with an eye out.. found a Roland MMP-2 selling on Kijiji... older technology, old stock from some people that forgot they had it until clearing the warehouse. "Does it all" without being a plugin, $100 + tax. Works for me.
Now if only I can get my voice to work.
