Vintage RCA Tube Microphone Preamps (Model# MI-12241/ Late 40s-Early 50s)
I am selling pair of vintage RCA mic preamps(SN#C1157 & C1766) made somewhere between late 1940s to early 1950s at the RCA factory in Camden NJ. They use 6J7/1620 metal tubes. These modules were used a lot in the film recording consoles from RCA but they have shown up in broadcast consoles, and they were used both as mic preamps and for make-up gain. these units use to have a knob for compression (or compensation) but at some point in there lives they were modified to have a D.I. input. I've been told that they can be modified back with ease. Bought these a year ago to rack but lack of time and money has prevented me from doing so. if you have the resources to recap preamps and rack gear this will be a cool project for you. Been told by two well known vintage audio dealers that these modules sound great when up and running.
these modules need to be "RACKED". Meaning they are in a raw form and will not work on their own. A power supply and XLR inputs/outputs must be wired on for them to work. I would think they would need a re-tubing and recapping job too
Email me for photos, price and any question: dune5233@hotmail.com
Thanks
Anthony
