Video Scoring - what should I charge?

My brother-in-law owns a video production company. I want to offer my services for scoring original music to his videos. Nothing too fancy, mostly loop library mixes an such.

I have no clue about how much to charge, or even how to charge. By the piece? By the hour?

Anybody have any experience at this?

Hey Barefoot,

I create music for TV, Commercial, etcccccc....... for companies. I don't actually do the scoring, but for the original piece of music you can go a few routes. E-mail me graham2@cox.net and I'll go over pricing in detail. Let me know what your intentions are...i.e licensing/selling the piece out right.......

Hey Gec, I'm interested in this too. Not planning on doing it in the near future, but might come in handy within a few years or so. Just to have an idea if this might help me out when times get tough and I'm all outta cash, that sorta thing...
