Do you guys live under rocks? She's a singer/songwriter. She's been around for about 20 years, had several #1 songs, did a half time show at the Superbowl years ago. It's not the type of music I listen to, but she has a pretty good voice.

She was one of the judges on American Idol for half a dozen seasons along with Lionel Richie. (folks outside the US wouldn't know that , obviously).

Hey, you never know with a bunch of old geezers!👴

I mean, have there really been any good female singers since Janis and Grace?

Whilst I am quite prepared to admit "we don't know everything" and Gvmnts surely have things going on they are not telling us about, when it comes to visitors from other planets I have to stay with the science and the facts.

They are briefly that even the closest star to us is over 4 light years away (and does not, AFAIK have a habitable planet orbiting it?) We know of no way to travel at even a tiny fraction of the speed of light. Yes, there are theoretical means of ftl travel, warping space, wormholes but these are esoteric theories and scientists have no idea how to implement them. Maybe an advanced ET civilization could do them but it would involve prodigious amounts of energy which we would surely detect?

The "believers" point out that mankind (and ladykind!) have gone from being earthbound to powered flight to the moon in about 100 years. Indeed but by the application of solid science and engineering. There is no magic involved

Then there is the psychological problem of incarcerating intelligent beings in a tiny tin can for months or years? I believe that sending H sap to even Mars is presently a very bad idea. We should instead develop very much more sophisticated robots but even those, if smart enough might go mad!

Dave.
