VF-160 and Alesis Adat

Is the Fostex vf-160 compatible with Alesis Adat machine for simaltanious recording. The online manual only mentions other fostex machines for 8 digital and 8 anolog recording. Thanks for any info before I buy.
 
If it has an ADAT sync input/output, then you would get sample-accurate sync.... otherwise, probably not.....
 
Yes it has a sync and i/o 8 channel lite pipe...TOS link
 
VF160 can indeed sync to an incoming ADAT signal regardless of where it's coming from.

If you need more inputs for the VF160 I recommend getting the $200 Behringer ADA8000 interface instead of using the ADAT for this.
 
Yes Adat sync....its an Alesis Adat 8 track digital recorder (black face 16 bit)....would like to hook it up to the fostex vf-160 to record 8 digital and 8 analog at the same time. Thanks for the info on the berringer....but would like to get some use out of this Alesis before I purchase anything else.
