anyone use vegas for anything other than audio - i tried using the video portion, thinking my audio and video needs could be suited to in one program... but it's a horrible video program... maybe it's just me? anyway to make editing with vegas easier / desirable

???

I think it's a fantastic video editing program.

really?
i have my video footage on that timeline and it's just horrible i find... how can i get it to be frame by frame... rather than one icon for each file??

It's just you.

Honestly, you're the first person I've ever seen seen not heap praise upon Vegas' video editing abilities.

I've only just played around with it for video, and it does take some getting used to but I find it very good. What they need to do is put Vegas and Acid into one program!

I've been using Vegas for audio since it first came out, but it was only recently that I started dabbling in video editing. I was able to make my first music video using clips taken with my digital camera in just a couple of hours with Vegas 5, and it was amazingly easy to put together. I know of pro editors that swear by Vegas.

You can expand the timeline so that each frame is displayed above the corresponding ~33msec of audio that goes with it.

Or- you can use the video preview function and step through a frame at a time.
