it says it does on the site...

I read that but I was wondering how efficient it is (from an owner) and if it's worth the US185$ it's going for here and there?

I have not actually priced, but I think it is a safe bet that you could purchase a carpet remnant and some foam material to put under it for a lot less than $185. I suspect it would keep the kit in place and provide some dampening ffrom the impact just as effectively.

This is what I'm talking about. I've found several different models with a similar principal and most guy are very pleased with their results.

Platform building materials

If anyone is interested or cares about noise with their v-drums for whatever reason (apt. living or other members in their home),this is what lots of guys are doing to dampen the impact vibrations from the thumping. Here's how to get started.

I bought 2 sheets of 4'x4' , 1/2" MDF and 2 sheet of 1/2" plywood 4'x4' also. At the same time I bought a kit with four hole saw drill bits, different sizes so I can see how deep the tennis balls sit in the holes. They can't be too big or the balls will roll around beneath in the sandwich.
Cost of wood and screw bit kit-$100 CDN at HomeDepot

Tomorrow, all I need to buy is a piece of carpet 4'x4', 25 tennis balls and some 3/4" particle board screws. I already have this double sided tape for the carpet, it's meant for outdoors so it will last a long time.

I will take pictures of my final product for show and tell. I must build in my old man's drive-way as I live in an apartment or I would be building it right now!

Drum Platrom finished but...

I want to post my pictures because they're beautiful. But they're too big for in here...How do I make them smaller?

You could take liquid nails, and glue the tennis balls to the wood, and that thing would probably NEVER come apart. :p
LOL
