If I were to install a 002 with pro tools, would I be able to load it via ASIO in cubase and also load up the firepod? Basically I have a project that would collaborate me and a nother engineer, but he has the 002 and I have a firepod. My computer is way better than his and we need all the inputs we can get. So granted, would that be doable?

i'm not an expert, but from my understanding, it's not going to work - i think that digidesign hardware will only work in conjunction with pro tools software, and vice versa...again, this is only a guess - i'm sure someone who knows better will set the record straight

hm.... i read here somewhere that you can use the 002 in sonar via asio, so just wondered if you can use both

My 002 doesn't show up in Cubase, but my Mbox does (and works just like any other hardware piece, in fact).

Just did a search on yahoo and I found this

How can I use Nuendo in my Pro Tools Studio?
With Digidesign providing ASIO (Steinbergs Audio Streaming Input Output Technology) drivers the following Digidesign hardware can be used with Nuendo PC:
- Pro Tools|HD Accel
- Pro Tools|HD
- Pro Tools|24 MIX
- Pro Tools|24
- Digi 002
- Digi 002 Rack
- Digi 001
- Mbox
- AudioMedia III
Also a CoreAudio driver is offered allowing the following Digidesign hardware to be used with Nuendo Mac:
- Pro Tools|HD
- Pro Tools|24 MIX
- Digi 002 and Digi 002 Rack
- Digi 001
- Mbox
- Audiomedia III
* Please note that Steinberg has not influence on the quality/maintenance of the hardware drivers offered by Digidesign and can thus not be made responsible for single cases of incompatibility.

so granted the 002 will work with asio drivers, but would I be able to use 2 interfaces simultaenously in cubase?

If the 002 is Cubase compatible then you might try downloading and installing the "ASIO4ALL" driver which should let you run multiple ASIO compatible Devices useing the same driver and simutainiusly within the same software....

You won"t be able to use this driver in Protools but it should work with Cubase....

Cheers

maybe.

i couldnt get the 002 to work alone in Cubase.

i know you can't combine 002's. i kinda think that no, you can't do it.
