Hello again! I read in an earlier thread that you can tweak xp for recording under one user and have it set up for the regular stuff under another user. Is this possible? I am afraid to install two xp's on my system as it is running fine and don't want to screw with my luck. Any input? - Caleb

Under any version of Windows going back to 98, you can setup seperate "hardware profiles" for different users. So a certain card is disabled one way, enabled another. But that is something different.

You can use permissions (especially if you are using NTFS file system) to give different users different levels of software acccess.

I use a dual boot of XP...the 2nd is stripped of all the junk, eye candy, and I disable all features that are uneccesary for recording with the XP tweaks here:

basicaly, if its running fine, dont mess with it...i learned the hard way.

only fix it if it need fixin!

I use a seperate XP login for recording, with different preferences and a batch file to close down all unneeded services. It works well for me.
