what is this?
I saw one yesterday at GC for around $250.00... I've heard mixed reviews on the newer ones vs. the older ones... I think this was an early '80s model, but it looked pretty beat to shit. I didn't have time to try it out, but I'm going back soon to check into it. I hate to ask this question, because in the end it's all a matter of preference, but do you guys think this would be a worthwhile investment? Keep in mind, this thing looks beat up, but are aesthetics really that important? :D

If it sounds good and isn't falling apart there shouldn't be any reason not to.

would be a good amp to have around. screw the cosmetics. check it out and see what it sounds like.

I used one at Summerfest and it was voted the loudest amp at the event that year.....

Clean and Loud. Has a personality, but it's a mild one. 250 clams sounds pretty ok to me.

Cool guys, thanks for the input. I'll go check it out this weekend, but I don't know about the loudness... Getting ready to go back to the apartment lifestyle, and it would be pointless if I couldn't ever really crank it up. :o

It's solid state, you won't need to crank it up. This amp is fucking great with pedals btw.

Offer them 175, maybe 200, they will take it ;) Working for Guitar Center, i know all there little "quirks" ;)

"Whats the best price you can give me on this" They will give you a price, then you give them your price.. ;)

I love those amps..... super versatile. If you have a nice effects rig, you can run pretty much any signal into it and it comes out sweet and loud. My favorite amp to run my Fender Rhodes through as well.
