I have a question about the USB audio interfaces. I am looking at the Midiman Audiosport Duo. I know that the USB bandwith was of great concern when it first came out, before USB 2.0. If you use a USB interface like the Audiosport Duo, which is the older type of USB, with the USB 2.0, will you have less bandwith issues. I know that the Duo won't automatically turn into a 2.0 card, but will the bandwith be less of an issue? Any input will be appreciated.

Thanks.

A USB 1.0 device plugged into a USB 2.0 port will funtion exactly the same as a USB 1.0 device. If you have many devices connected to said USB 2.0 port however, the increased bandwidth should allow more USB 1.0 devices to be connected without affecting performance.

Bandwidth isn't an issue with USB audio. They all do what they say they do. They just don't do as much as non-usb devices that cost the same amount.

Just keep other USB stuff disconnected while useing your USB audio device. In theory, USB 2 would make that less of an issue, but I doubt the drivers have caught up with that fact, yet.

Take care,
Chris

It depends on how you look at it. A PCI Audiophile can provide up to 4 channels in and 4 channels out at 24/96. The USB version can't. Granted: the manual says so, but nevertheless it's limited compared to the PCI version..

IMac duo core

Anybody. I tried a tascam audio midi interface and it turned out there were no drivers developed for the new Mac. Does anyone know of one that is available for the new duo core?
