Hi guys
A little background:
Currently I am building a theremin and one of the feature I would like to add is to have USB capabilities, for recording purposes (Inspired by a guy who customized his guitar by putting an audio interface PCB chip inside of his guitar. You can google Guitar USB DIY. it should be the first link)

In other words, I would like to take out the PCB board of an audio interface and mount it to the theremin's output so that, similar to the guitar link I've shown, the theremin will have a female USB port out of it.
Since theremin is a monophonic instrument, I figured that using one track at a time is sufficient for a USB audio interface.

Here are my candidate to choose my audio interface:

Alesis GuitarLink
Rocksmith Real Tone Cable
Behringer UCG102 Guitar-to-USB Interface
Hosa 1/4 In USB Guitar Cable
Peavey Xport
M-Audio Fast Track USB

Also would I need to have ASIO driver in the audio interface if I wanted to use VST? I remembered that couple years ago, I was able to do it because I was using a Firewire interface. I'm not too familiar when it comes to using USB audio interface and ASIO driver.

Any response will be greatly appreciated

cheers!

far better to just have an audio line-out on the instrument.

Then anyone can plug it into any interface with any other instruments.

As you can only use one interface driver at a time with asio, its better not to go nuts and cause yourself problems.
