I've been looking at the sound forge update hype, trying to find a reason to upgrade to 6.0. Is is just me, or does it seem that there isn't a compelling reason to upgrade. I'm at 5.0f now, and am using sound forge mainly as a wave editor and mastering tool.
Anyone find a strong reason to upgrade to 6.0? I must be missing something. It just doesn't seem the $150.00 upgrade cost is worth it. Inquiring minds would like to know.

John

I didn't see any compelling reason to move from 5 to 6.

SF5 works just fine for me.

I'd be more tempted to get their CDArchitect with the $150.....

The only thing that really stuck out for me going from 5 to 6 was the speed. 6 is soooooo much faster in rendering changes. They have got a lot of the edits to happen almost in real time, things that would take several minutes in 5.

So it's made my life easier, but I don't know if I would call it an essential upgrade.

7 may be worth a look at. I haven't checked out what has changed yet.

I have seen SF6 bundled with CDA on a couple academic software sites. I don't remember the specifics off-hand but I think it was around $200. May be worth a look if you are a student or know one.

I'm with you Spin and Looney.

I'm thinking an upgrade to 7.0 for $99 for registerd users is a decent deal. My order goes in this weekend.
