Currently using a DMP3 as a preamp. Will I hear any difference? I find the SP B1 a bit harsh on some sources.

I did the exact same thing a few years ago. From a B1 through my behringer to a AT4040 and a DMP3. I actually got the AT3035, and it was better then the B1, but not a whole lot. So I took it back and got the AT4040. I love it, you will definitely notice, especially once you start laying tracks down with it.

2nd that one. I did the exact same thing about a year ago. You will notice. My B1 sits in a closet.

Thanks, probably will sell off the B1 though to make up for the AT4040.

agree, I had the B1 and the AT 3035...the AT3035 went to trade, the B1 has the cheap price.
