This is as about as lo-fi as I can get. I've been taking a Marantz PMD222 mono reporters cassette recorder into our rehearsal studio each week for Lonely Few sessions and setting it up with one Beyer M58 omni mike up near the roof and just letting it run. No dolby or anything sophisticated like that
It's this setup here;
You never know what's going to come out. It's super lo-fi (then again, so is the Lonely Few). It's turning into my favorite way of recording.
Here's the result, all nasty narrow format slow speed cassette tape distortion and compression and mistakes and stuff ups and bad musicianship and tunesmithing from us as well...

It goes on a bit though. If you think the vocals sound like they're going through a megaphone, well - they are.
Given that it's about Fast Food and how good it is for you, then the cassette better have a noodle box to go in.
I don't think we'll bother letting this one out without having a proper go on the good recording gear.
