Hey Chad, i checked it out..

i even played them back to back.. i was ready to cringe playing it along side a major label release. Sure enough i was disappointed but not as badly as i was expecting. I'm detecting some low frequency and some high end definition that i seem to be overlooking somehow. Still i didn't feel hopeless when i compared them and somehow the levels wasn't that much lower either.

I can see the similarities in the writing, mostly in the vocal phrasing and layering of back vox during certain passages. The instrumentation likes to hover on a tonic for a while and that's a fave of mine too. Thanks for showing me this, I think i'll have to check out more of their stuff. I wasn't expecting that type of song, i though incubus was like a heavy numetal band.

Honest thoughts? Sure, okay.

You got the song down. The sound's great, the delivery's good, the mix is fine.

The issue's a temporary issue - the song: nobody's gonna notice it, but this song's a stepping stone to a better song. You'll be writing better songs in three years. You're clocking symbolism and drama right now, and the song's focussed. But in three years, it's all gonna be better. In the meantime, I like this one. The tempo is perfect, the sound is right on, and the song makes me feel like I can do things. That's great. Keep at it.
