Two In One.........

Nice!

Really like the drums. They are just what the song needs from a sonic perspective. The overall mix sounds great on my pc speakers which could indicate that it is too bassy on other systems, or my speakers are crap.

For some reason, the guitar tone sounds better in the second tune, which I can't understand because the mixes in both are so consistent.

Great job man!!

He said WHAT?

My left ear is shut down......
Doc says my sinus has sucked my eardrum inward.....

And did you hear the giant sucking sound from your wallet as you were leaving the doc's office??

Anyway - onto the tune - cool vibe!! Don't be like me with this one - I have a tune that's all arranged and can't seem to take the time to write the lyrics or melody. Rhythm is cool - that backbeat tambourine adds a nice color. This is really a "summer of love" kinda vibe so have a ball with it!! There seems to be a heavy dose of low-end pervading the tune. But it may be too soon to judge without a vocal or melody line to contrast it.

I can't tell where one starts and the other one leaves off - sounds like a rock-torch-head-banging-hair-flowin'-free-form epic ballad to me. I'm anxious to hear where you go with it.

hey, joro

this one sounds alot better than the other one you posted a couple of week ago. The stereo image is better and the acoustic guitar has alot more body to it. The overall sonic quality is improved, too. Wonder if you found a different method to encode mp3s. My only complant is the lead guitar, it sounds real thin and ordinary like what someone would expect from a pod. But, don't get me wrong, I own a pod and I've been able to get fairly decent sound out of it. So, try dif patches and tweak around.

Hey man, How goes it?
I think I am getting the hang of these canned drums....
Thanks for checking it out Bro...
I don't know if the mixes aere cosistent or not....I really can't hear them that well right now.....ya know? :(

Hey ~Milan :D

I will finish it for sure.....getting someone to agree to sing it has always been the hard part for me....
The general consesus is that my mixes are bass heavy....
I need to compensate for that in the future I suppose.....
or get new monitors....
Listening in my car seems to be the "Acid" test.....
Thanks for checking it out man...

P.S.
My doctor's co-pay is only ten dollars so it aint that bad.. :D

HI Al,
I think the difference is in the compression settings and the tracking quality...ie: mic placement etc:
The lead track is the exact same one as before and yes, it is through a POD.....
What do you do to get a more dynamic (less compressed ? ) rock sound out of yours?
Do you EQ after?
I suppose I should read the red book......
I've had it for a year and have yet to open up the book...
Thanks for checking it out again man,

Thanks again fellas, :D

I never use the compressor in POD cuz I find it extreamly noisy, in fact, I usually bypass the effects in pod, and apply them later during mixdown. But, I think your problem in this tune is just a bad patch. The tone reminds me of the good o' Zoom101:D Play with the pickups/tone wheesl on your Les, I am sure you can get killer sounds out of your rig. If everything fails, reamp your pod by routing it out to an amp and mic it.

Hi Al,
Thanks man...I will give it a try...
The only amp I own is a little 15 watt Fender silver bullet reverb practice amp....
I will give it a try though....
Thanks man... ;)

I hear ya, I thought this was pretty cool. It didn't sound like two different songs to me.

Left panned guitar tone was a little stark, some short predelayed reverb might fatten it up.

Distorted guitar on the way was set too deep in the mix. I'm not sure the song needs it. Guitars were a little quiet in general.

Nice to hear some real drums, they sounded good. Nice accoustic tone.

I enjoyed listening to this.

I'm glad you thought they were real man....
I am gonna work on the guitar tracks again....

Thanks man,
