Tuning Drums: A Poll

I spend hours tuning my drums, and even though it can be a royal pain in the ass it is def worth it. To have the same drums sounding 10,000 times better makes you feel good inside. haha. To facilitate the process, I use the Evans torque key to start, and then the most important tool, your ear! Also, a good combo is the EC2's and Genera Resonant for toms!

If you've ever put new heads on a drumset, you know what I'm talking about.

I just completed, after 2 NIGHTS of tinkering, setting up everything and tuning.

I put on new batter AND resos on EVERY Drum. Kick, 2 Snares, and 4 toms.

The toms are still off a bit, so it'll take some playing to get right again, but it was already worth the purchase and effort thus far!

Anywho, I hate tuning drums, but it has to be done.

Sometimes I wish I didn't play drums anymore, only guitar.

Ha, lucky me!

At work all day I've been thinking about drumming. I'd been thumping my desk and stomping my feet to the point that I got inquisitive looks. Hearing music made it worse!

So I finally get home, so pumped to get behind my kit and bang away.....but alas, ALL of my toms have lost their tune. Now granted, I'm used to sitting down and cranking on my snare, as I keep it relativley tight. But I spent the better potion of an hour tuning. Finally got it finished, but damn....it's only been 4 or 5 days since I last played!
Flippin' cold weather!

Oh well! It was worth it!

Ha I just got done spending 2 hrs tuning and setting up my dad's kit... Now it's time to tune my kick drum

BTW Remo Fiberskyn 3 = NOT GOOD for kick drum.

Funny, that's the only drum I like fiberskyns on. I can't fricken get 'em to tune right on snare or toms.
