Wow, thanks Treena! :) Just a couple questions:

Where did you get all this wonderful knowledge? If it's from a book, I think I'd like to read it.

Who uses Concert pitch and who uses Standard pitch?

Anyways, I started tuning to 440, and I do hear a slight difference. My guitar doesn't stand out as much now. Notes I play blend into the music tightly, and I have to use more emphasis. I'm paying much closer attention now, so this might just be in my mind.
 
AFAIK most symfonic orchestras use 442-443 these days and I've heard it is common for soloists to tune 1 or 2 Hz above that, for improved 'clearness', 'sparkle' (tube warmth anyone :rolleyes: )...


might try that in a rock setting: tune everything to 440 and have a soloist play his/her solo in 441...
