I enjoyed it too....maybe a little wah-wah(y) for me after a bit, but realize you're just havin' fun with the new toys...

A tough tune to cover decently, and you've at least accomplished a clean version in your own style...

GT - you can thank mixmkr for bumping this one up to the top and onto my radar.

Very enjoyable.

Queue gives it a thumbs up!!

sounds nice....

always kind of makes me jealous of the synth drums when i hear them...becuase I'm like man, you have such a solid/perfect bed of music to start with....makes your mp3 sounds so professional.

always makes me consider doing synth drums for a few seconds and then I'm like nah nah...gotta keep plugging away at it until I can get a good sound.

Dude,
Your thread has been born again!! Please post what you've been working on since April. I miss your tunes and wanna know how the Zoom has been treating you now that you've had time to get into the guts of it.

Peace,
Theron.

CEM brought this thread back, from about two pages down, pleasant surprise! Really glad more got to listen!!

This was the most drum machine programing I have ever done, then the guitar jam was the icing on the cake.

theron,

I'm working on an original, don't know where to take it, very sad sounding, but can't seem to find words to match. Love sad songs, but they seem to be a bitch to write.

Maybe the revival of this thread was meant to get me off my ass, and back in the strudio.

Thanks all,

GT

GT,

I missed this one the first time around, so I'm glad it got bumped. I listened to all the tunes. Very nice job.

Didn't you post a link to "Mood For a Day " somewhere else once before? Possibly done on acoustic guitar? Was that you?
If so, is that one still up? I'd like to hear it again.

Thanks,
Twist

GT, if you're looking for lyrics head on over to Collaboration Central, there's quite a few wordsmith types who will throw out a whole song's worth of lyrics in no time.

Thanks all,

theron,

I really like this machine, even now that I've had it for awhile.

The effects, though minimal seem very good. It has a chorus that I prefer over my Pod chorus.

I also like the hall reverb, which I used on this tune.

Some of the settings I will not use, just don't like the sound, for example doubling.

I think I may get use out of the built in limiter, for vocals, seems like it will really help calm the jumping levels.

So far very easy to use. Seems to record very cleanly. Compact, without being so small that you can't hit the buttons.

Limited memory with the 32mb card that came with it, but expands up to 128mb.

If it was stolen, I would get another one.

Hey GT, great guitar playing! And the drums sound pretty good, too, especially for programmed ones. I saw your comment about thinking someone would complain about the reverb, and since no one did, figured I would! It's a bit much, maybe cut the high end on the reverb a little.

Great job,
Macle

(P.S. good to see someone from before, seems a lot of people who used to hang out here, aren't around anymore!)

wayhay

Great stuff
I almost got that little puppy. I went for the boss cos it was cheaper at the time.

Glad you're "one with your machine" as far as choices go. If you'd buy the same if forced to, you've made a solid purchase.

I'd love to hear the original! Please post it when it's ready. If "sad love song" lyrics is the only thing holding you up, then let me know. I might have a crop of words that would work;)wink

Peace and happy playing

Theron.

macle,

Thanks, yeah I thought maybe the reverb was a bit much, but just a bit.

This little recorder has adjustment for treble on the reverb, amazing.

Erland,

Yeah, I was looking at the Boss too, decided I didn't want the giutar proccesing, as I allready have a Pod. Zoom seemed like it might be easier to use.

theron,

Too cool, send some lyrics, I"ll see if they fit. Email me.
