Trouble using MOTU 896 on a PC

I found MOTU 896 at a pawn shop for a steal… Now, (unfortunately) I’m trying to use it on a Gateway laptop with Windows XP -- mixing on Adobe Audition.

My firewire card seems to work fine - the sound I'm recording is great, but this time I can only record on to the computer from 2 channels at a time. It seems that the “MOTU Audio Console” program only lets me select 2 tracks for input – it’s like there are no options to open it up to listen to more inputs.

I'd like to be able to use all 8 inputs – I don’t know if the CueMix feature works with the 896? The CueMix program has installed but it won’t open on this PC. I've tried to re-install but it didn't help.

Maybe this is something very simple that I'm missing?
