Transitioning 2 Guitar Parts Together

So I received 2 tracks for one guitar riff. It's about 3 minutes long. Part 2 had been compressed a bit by either the guitarist, or the vocalist who sent it to me, but the first part hadn't been. I managed to even out the volume, and transition the parts together cohesively. I've EQ'd the frequencies of each track to match each other, and I've been tweaking them by ear, because I can still barely hear a difference between the two when the transition occurs. I know it's probably not noticeable to most anyone else, but I'm a perfectionist, and I like to do my best each time. What else do you think I could do to smooth out the transition? Thanks (:

Do the parts overlap or is it abrupt? You could stretch out the crossfade if they overlap. Or maybe just compress the uncompressed one a bit to match.

Maybe post a little snippet of the tracks in the spot where they transition. It'd be easier to give advice if we would hear how the transition is not right.

There is definitely a difference. Noticed right off the second one has more high end noise. I think you should be able to get these closer.

I'm on headphones so I can't be positive. But he second part seems to lose a little of the low end. I'd think if you could just roll off a few (more) low end frequencies from the first section it'd be a decent match. I actually think losing a little of the low end would be OK - that first part is a bit tubby.
