Totally sold on the Great River ME-1NV but ...

Well I am really sold on this unit hearing some audio samples and based on what is said around here. It's only a matter of time before I take the plunge. The problem is that I really need 2 channels but can't afford the 2 channel model right now. Is there anything out there with 2 channels that keeps up (or sounds similar) with the GR in the $1000-$1200 range? Or should I just deal with only having 1 premium channel right now? Damn decisions! Any thoughts??? Thanks!

BTW, Humbucker Music has the GR for $1075 with free shipping. Anyone know if this goes for cheaper elsewhere?
 
I can't state unequivocally that it will be similar enough in sound for your purposes (I don't have your ears, and wouldn't be using it in exactly the same way, eic...) but you should audition a Buzz SSA1.1 http://www.buzzaudio.com/products/ssa1.1.htm . Street price is under $1500 and it's a remarkably good solid state preamp.
