Good evening everyone.

Who of you have played Tokais?.. How were they?

I've been slammin 12hour days and a couple of weekends too, and might have sum soon to invest...

There's a few Tokai LPs on sale here with Amazing flamed maple-tops!.. not too expensive, they'd look GREAT even on the wall in a line!!:D

..wish they'd make a Vox tonelab SE for bass... Wouldn't have to spend on more guitars..:(

Try one of the Agile LP copies. You can get them from Rhondo music. The only Tokais that I thought were exceptional were some of the vintage Tokai strats that I've played over the years. The newer ones aren't in the same league.

dont know about them now but we carried them at a store in nashvegas in the early '80s and for jap copy type stuff they seemed real good... ymmv...

Tokai's are presently made in Korea and their tone and quality control (fit and finish) have gone steadily downhill in the past several years. If you're reading all kinds of good things about Tokai guitars, chances are they're talking about the older Japanese-made ones. If you want a killer Les Paul for a good price check out the Epiphone Elitist. It blows the newer Tokai's away. I'd even venture to say it's better than a Gibson.

Tokai love rock

I had a Tokai love rock in the 90's and it is worst guitar I have ever owned. The tone was as dead as a door. I've owned some shit giutars in my time, but this was the worst.
Still, if other guys here had great results with theirs, mine might have been a dud.
Whatever you get, test play as many as you can before you buy.
Mike.

Lawsuit Tokai's are great. I'd avoid anything made after '82.

I would'nt use any other guitar.
In fact I'm convinced Leo Fender helped them build those Tokai Relic Tele's & Strats. If its got Tokai on it buy it before someone else does!:)
